Well…after meeting at the dog show, and a brief dating period, Dottie, the pink and purple polka dotted grown up dog and Striper, the green and yellow grown up Spaniel were wed.
What a festive occasion!
Of course since Dottie was world famous and Striper was now almost as equally popular, their life was followed by the press and TV and all in full color of course. Actually, the black and white photos of the couple would be unusual too since Dottie’s Dots were all over her and Striper’s Stripes were all over him and you could have easily seen their patterns without any color at all.
Everywhere the famous couple went there were Puppyrazzi (even though neither was a puppy anymore) and they would often see themselves on the cover of magazines. But actually, both of them were kind of wishing that they weren’t so popular.
They couldn’t even sneak out of their two story dog house for a quiet stroll before cameras flashed and strangers were asking for “Pawtographs”.
They tried to wear disguises but after hours of sticking on shaggy rug pieces to try to look like a Siamese cat, Dottie actually saw a cat only three feet behind her house and barked. She was bathed in camera flashes and quickly retreated back into her home where Striper helped her pull off the rug strips.
After about a year of marriage, the number of Puppyrazzi were diminishing until there were usually only one or two photographers out side waiting to record their every move.
Maybe in another few months the “photogs” as Striper called them, would leave altogether. But then it happened.
If you wanted to not attract attention and not have a camera in your muzzle everywhere you would trot, then what happened was the very LAST thing that you wanted to happen.
Dottie gave birth to five puppies!
The Puppyrazzi and the eight deep crowds of fans were having to be held back by the local police and the spotlights that were trained on their house lit up each room of the entire interior.
There were helicopters hovering overhead 24 hours a day.
Dottie and Striper couldn’t dare step out of their house but actually they didn’t mind staying at home with their newborns.
And Yes…the newborns were, to say the very least UNUSUAL, RARE, UNIQUE etc. etc.
Can you imagine what pattern and color combinations of puppies that a pink and purple polka dotted and green and yellow striped couple might have?
You’re right!
Dots, stripes, crisscrosses, blotches, curlycues, and all manner of patterns and then there is that color thing!
What do you get when you mix Green and Pink and Yellow and Purple?
Right again!
Did you think that Green and yellow mixed together actually make blue? Well, they don’t but Dottie and Striper have a rather blue puppy now too!
Puppy Number One (Dottie and Striper wanted to wait a bit before naming them) was mostly blue with some yellow splotches and some purple dashes and it was a GIRL!
And so of course, the mostly Pink puppy number two, with the streaks of green and yellow was a BOY.
It was a veritable Rainbow in that puppy box with no two alike.
There was puppy number three that actually was nearly all yellow but had tic tack toe markings in purple all over.
Number Four, with his purple body, Green feet and Pink ears looked just like a stuffed Easter Bunny.
But puppy number five might just have been the most unusual of all. A female that had Brown ears, creme colored speckled brown body and brown paws and looked EXACTLY like her Grandma Trixie!
Which one would you want to take home?
